thoughts of family / reaching out

reaching out

whether
someone is
drowning
or
someone is
saving another,
the circumstance
can't be
avoided
or
accomplished
without one
reaching out.

you.

you
need to
realize,
believe,
that if you are
drowning,
if it seems
that all hope
is lost,
that no one
seems to
see you,
cares about you,
loves you,
that all it takes
to be
saved,
save yourself,
is simply

reaching out

your hand
on faith,
on what little hope
you think you have,
and a hand
will be there
to take yours.
a hand
formed out of
many hands,
or
just the one hand.
the only
hand you need.

and you.

you
need to
realize,
believe,
that if you
see
that person
drowning,
care about that person,
love them,
but it seems
that you can't
even get to
them,
seems that they can't
even see you
or know that
you exist,
that all it takes
to save
them,
save those in need
is simply

reaching out

your hand,
on faith,
on what little belief
you think you have
that you
can even reach them,
and you will
take their
hand,
the hand
of a
loved one,
or a stranger,
the hand that
calls you
to be
one
of many hands,
to be the
one
hand,
the hand
of
God.
